"Love and hope" was not only the theme of the music but also the palpable sentiment of the evening. · NJMTA Annual Recital Audition (First in the western world by the American Mainstream organization - NJMTA, an affiliate of MTNA) – competitive annual music program for the well-prepared student who is capable of accepting the challenge of concert platform. · NJMTA Annual Young Musicians Competition (First in the western world by the American Mainstream organization - NJMTA, an affiliate of MTNA)– highly competitive annual music program, designed for the very well-prepared student ready to accept much higher challenge of concert platform. · 2007 CCTV (Chinese National TV Station) Chinese Instrument TV Competition - US Eastern Regional Competition (the 1st of its kind in CCTV history) · Featured Academy Events · Students Involvment in local School & Community Events · Congratulations to the Academy's proud 2007-2010 graduates -- 2010 Grad: Queenie Qiu, Johns Hopkins University , w/ full scholarship, who won the 1st and 3rd award at NJMTA 2008 & 2009 Competitions (age 15-17 group) and all High Honor awards at the NJMTA 2007-2010 Auditions. 2009 Grad: Sarah Tang, Princeton University, who won the 3rd Place (Age 15 -17) at 2007 & 2009 NJMTA Competitions, High Honor at NJMTA 2007-2009 Auditions, and the 3rd Place (age 13 – 17) at the 2007 CCTV Chinese Instrument Eastern Regional Competition. 2008 Grad: Carmen Chan, MIT, (also accepted by Harvard), who won the 1st Place (Age 15 -17) at the 2007 NJMTA Competition, High Honor at both NJMTA 2007 & 2008 Auditions, and the 3rd Place (age 13 – 17) at the 2007 CCTV Chinese Instrument Eastern Regional Competition. She is the founder of the MIT Chinese Ensemble. 2008 Grad: Jie Sun, Dartmouth College , who won High Honor and Honor awards at 2008 & 2007 NJMTA Auditions.
2007 Grad:
Amy Han, 2008 Grad Rutgers University's Honors Medical program with full Presidential Scholarship . She won the 2nd Place (Age 15 -17) at the 2007 NJMTA Competition, High Honor at both NJMTA’ s 2007 & 2008 Auditions, and the 3rd Place (age 13–17) at the 2007 CCTV Chinese Instrument Eastern Regional Competition;
2007 Grad:
Jimmy Zhou, - the Cornell University . He won the High Honor award at the 2007 NJMTA Spring Recital Audition (the 1st NJMTA event involing Chinese instruments);
2007 Grad: Michelle Wang, Rutgers Univ. who won High Honor and Honor awards at 2008 & 2007 New Jersey Music Teacher Assoc. Auditions. |
