* At the 2009 NJMTA (NJ Music Teacher Assoc.) Young Musicians Competition (held on 11/08/09), YYGA students won 1st places in all 4 Chinese music categories, which includes Hannah Jin in 15-17 age group, Jennifer Zhang in 11-14 age group, Grace Chen in <10 age group and Queenie, Hannah and Jennifer's ensemble group.



* At the 2009 NJMTA (NJ Music Teacher Assoc.) Spring Recital Audition (held on 3/29/09), YYGA students won 9 solo and 2 ensemble High Honor Awards, as well as 7 solo and 3 ensemble Honor Awards. The Winners Recital will be held on May 9th at Rider University' BLC Theater.  Visit NJMTA's official website at www.njmta.com , or register for future NJMTA Chinese instrument competitions by click here.




* Congratulations to Hannah Jin who won the National Young Musicians Showcase Competition on March 22. A West Windsor High School sophomore student and a student of Yang Yi for 5 years, Hannah Jin will perform at the winners Concert on May 3 in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. This competition is hosted by the National League of Performing Arts, Inc.

· NJMTA (New Jersey Music Teacher Association) Young Musicians Competition – highly competitive program, designed for the very well-prepared student ready to accept much higher challenge of concert platform.

Being the first and the only Chinese instrument competition organized by the American Mainstream music organization, instrumentalised and founded by Yang Yi, the current Chinese instrument chairperson, NJMTA (an affiliation of National Music Teacher Assoc.), the world's largest music teacher assoc. has formally welcomed Chinese instruments into its traditional yearly competition programs.This is the 1st non-western instrument programs MTNA is hosting in its 100+ years of history. Academy Winners

NJMTA Young Musicians Competition is an extremely high level competition. The awards go to only ONE 1st place & ONE 2nd place winners with no ties, as well as 3rd place and Honorable Mention winners (ties possible at judge's sole discretion). The level of NJ is notoriously high, and the number of well-prepared students have increased every year since the initiation of this competition program in November 2007. · 2007 CCTV (Chinese National TV Station) Chinese Instrument TV Competition - US Eastern Regional Competition

Led by chairperson Yang Yi, the 2007 CCTV (Chinese National TV Station) Chinese Instrument TV Competition US Eastern Regional Competition was finished with a big success. 52 finalists from 6 surrounding states competed at the final competition on Oct. 13 in New Jersey. 21 winners were selected to compete in Beijing.
